Medicine Drum Workshop
Sunday, September 11th 10am-2pm
Set & Setting
360 Morro Bay Blvd, Morro Bay, CA
Join Indigenous healing practitioner, Krista Rooney, as she leads you step-by-step in making your very own medicine drum. The beat of the medicine drum is said to mimic the heartbeat of Mother Earth. Once you hear its unique sound, you will immediately begin to feel an awakening and deeper connection to yourself and the world around you.
Participants will each make a 12” deer skin drum. This workshop will be led with intention and space will be held to ensure everyone is able to really connect with their drum through the process of creating it. This is a workshop for anyone and everyone who is interested! There is no experience or background needed. Every drum is unique and no two are ever alike. It’s always exciting to see each one come to life based on the individual making it!
Deer skins and frames are sourced ethically and sustainably from Canada.
All drum making materials, after care instructions, and light snacks will be provided. Feel free to bring food items for yourself or to share with the workshop. Please dress comfortably. You may be finished a little before or after this time as participants finish at different times so please have flexibility.
Space is limited so it is recommended to sign up ASAP
